The  I-CBC is a relatively new organization with only a few members, however the standards that have been set are significant and defensible in the current business environment and the I-CBC is the only sanctioning body recognizing the "Certified Business Coach™ and Master Business Coach™" Credentials.

Since the I-CBC is a sanctioning body, the application fee for certification will be $250 which will include 1 year of membership in the I-CBC at the qualifying level, either associate or professional depending on your background, training and experience. It will also include your certification award should you meet the criteria and the fee is non-refundable. This is one time fee and will provide you with up to one year to satisfy the credentialing process without being asked to resubmit another fee.

The fee is due when you send in your application for certification to the I-CBC. Application can be made 3 weeks prior to your graduation from B\Coach or any other business coach training organization. Reviews and the credentialing application will be handled on a case by case basis but must consist of the following items:

  1. APPLICATION FORM
  2. 1000 word article
  3. Case Study on one business coaching client
  4. Optional Project if one was completed.
  • You will be notified by email of where and when the reviews will be provided. The onsite review at your retreat will consist of a live coaching session where you demonstrate competence in the coaching model and that session will be video-taped for the record--you will be provided with a copy for your own use.
  • Also, an oral review will be held by I-CBC Review Board Members at which time you will demonstrate your knowledge of coaching using the coaching model as a guideline.*
  • *If you have attended B-Coach Development you will be well prepared as long as you have attended the session and completed the reviews, role plays and participated in make-up sessions.
  • Upon graduating from B-Coach you will receive a graduation certificate which will be separate and not dependent on the I-CBC certification which has the criteria above as a guideline.
  • If you have any questions about this process, please contact Mel Sonneman, Executive Director of International Consortia of Business Coaches, as soon as possible.
